1. Attend a “How to Teach” class, presented by an experienced trainer, who reviews the training materials (leaders’ guide, student workbook, handouts) and shares tips on how best to present certain concepts, run exercises and role plays, and answer common questions.
2. Co-teach with an experienced trainer (for a class) or have an experienced trainer as your “student” (for on-shift training).
3. Teach on your own but with an experienced trainer as an observer, who gives you feedback and – if you’ve successfully met the standards above – signs you off as “certified” to teach on your own.
