Kari Nehro
Consultant, ZingTrain
Kari grew up in Chicago, Illinois and attended University of Iowa in Iowa City. After graduating with a degree in Journalism, Kari volunteered with the AmeriCorps services in Denver, Colorado. A year later she moved to Vail, where she was the Marketing Coordinator for Vail Resorts. Two years after that she and her husband moved to Ann Arbor, where they bought a home around the corner from Zingerman’s Delicatessen.
Kari was drawn to Zingerman’s because “the people who work here are always so nice to us and make us feel special, not to mention we LOVE the food.” She joined the organization as Assistant to the Vice President, where she gained knowledge of the financial ins and outs, as well as Zingerman’s commitment to customer service. Kari’s keen interest in training led her to become certified to teach the internal “The Art of Giving Great Service” class. Kari moved to Zingerman’s Roadhouse in the summer of 2003, in preparation for the restaurant’s opening. As Roadhouse Service Director, Kari trained and managed a staff of 100 employees.
Now a part-time consultant with ZingTrain, Kari shares her operational and customer service knowledge with other Zingerman’s businesses, as well as with outside clients from a wide range of industries. Kari’s engaging and enthusiastic style has made her one of ZingTrain’s most popular presenters.
