Creating a Vision of Greatness
Apr 16-17, 2012

Join Zingerman’s CEO Ari Weinzweig and ZingTrain Managing Partner Maggie Bayless for this uniquely powerful ZingTrain seminar.
Are you struggling with how to grow your business? Do you feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of “opportunities” that confront you? Does the idea of growing as big as you can, as fast as you can, leave you uninspired (and exhausted)? We believe that writing a vision of success for your business — and yourself — is the necessary first step towards achieving success. We’re such strong believers in the Visioning process that we use it throughout Zingerman’s. Not just for our long-term organizational vision (you can download Zingerman’s 2020 Vision as a pdf) but for any organizational change project – small or large.
In developing this seminar, we worked with Inc. Magazine editor-at-large Bo Burlingham, author of Small Giants: Companies That Choose to Be Great Instead of Big. Bo visited Zingerman’s in 2002, writing a cover article for Inc. that named Zingerman’s “The Coolest Small Company in America.” After that article came out, a publisher asked Bo to look for other organizations that had chosen less traditional routes to success and the idea for “Small Giants” was born. Incorporating what Bo learned in writing the book, we’ll discuss the power and pitfalls of choosing and untraditional path and provide plenty of time for you to work on documenting a vision of greatness for your organization. As a special bonus, participants in the seminar have the opportunity to join a follow-up phone conference, during which Bo will share what he’s learned since the book was published.
Zingerman’s co-founding partners Ari Weinzweig and Paul Saginaw were recently featured on MSNBC’s Business on Main, and you can see them talking about our vision of greatness below.
By the end of this seminar, participants will be able to:
1. Explain and begin teaching the process of visioning.
2. Create/refine a vision of success for yourself and your business.
3. Use a variety of new management tools on the road to achieving your vision.
4. Call upon a network of peers to help get past roadblocks.
5. Reconnect with each other and hear from Bo Burlingham.
