How to be an Effective Servant Leader
Here at Zingerman’s, we’re keen on servant leadership. The theory was developed and coined by Robert Greenleaf in his 1970 essay “The Servant as Leader”. Paul Saginaw & Ari Weinzweig discovered his compelling ideas in the late 80s.
Ever since crossing paths, Greenleaf’s ideas have become deeply embedded into how we train and develop leaders throughout Zingerman’s. We took his theory and translated it into actionable tools for leaders to use in their daily work – six to be exact! Over the years, we’ve found these tools (aka “responsibilities”) to be just effective in the kitchen as in the conference room.
In this webinar, Arianna Téllez León shares the six responsibilities we teach to live servant leadership every day. These tools apply to leaders of all kinds, not just people who manage other people. At its core, servant leadership is thinking and acting in a way that best serves the needs of the organization. So whether you are leading people, projects, or yourself, you will gain something to help your organization succeed.
