Bring Your Team to ZingTrain

Blog

Katy Alexander

There is magic in bringing your team to ZingTrain. It’s been our flagship experience since 1996, and we built a customized space specifically for it!

Join the hundreds of learners who come to ZingTrain each year for a fresh perspective on their work and purpose, from bank branch managers across the country to the entire crew of your doggy daycare business.

Here, you’ll explore new ways to approach your organization’s current challenges, new techniques to build your confidence and effectiveness as a leader, and discover plenty of personal “ah-ha!” moments along the way.

We design every training to be a mix of whole-room discussions, breakout sessions, personal reflections, and hands-on activities – all guided by seasoned trainers who share proven methods and relevant insights to help your group have a great experience, learn a lot, and feel good about what comes next.

Client Story: Change Leadership for International Teams

Leading bicycle component innovator, SRAM, has brought multiple groups of their global leadership team to Ann Arbor. Each group spent one day learning with our friends at Menlo Innovations before joining us at ZingTrain for a one-day workshop pairing Living Servant Leadership with Bottom-Line Change® (a process to manage organizational change), two content areas that go together like pedals and crank sets.

Everyone came from different levels of leadership, and were all considered change leaders (or about to be!) in their role. We led them through the five steps of Bottom-Line Change®, and set them loose to immediately apply what they learned to a change in their pipeline and get feedback from their peers. You could visibly see the energy rise in the room while they shared! Now, they have an effective method and a common language to help engage others in change ideas they want to move forward.

Many of our core values align with Zingerman’s, and ZingTrain does an exceptional job of training those values and the associated ‘recipe’. And the food is always amazing!

– Devin D., Director of Continuous Improvement

Client Story: Enhancing Systems and Culture at a YMCA

Sara, President & CEO of the Duluth YMCA, dreamt of bringing her executive leadership team to ZingTrain for almost a decade – and she’s made it happen twice in the last three years! Their first custom 2-day seminar in 2023 gave the team a lay of our organizational land, and then we led them through Creating a Long-Term Vision of Greatness (more to come in a future e-news!).

In 2024, we collaborated on a second experience that was part professional development, part team-building, and part action planning. This training focused on how to design effective Employee Training and nurture a great Customer Service culture. We baked in plenty of reflections and exercises for them to discuss how they wanted to adapt these tools back at the Y.

And that’s not all! They also went to a private BAKE! class (at our baking school) and attended a monthly Zingerman’s-wide meeting to watch Open Book in action. By the end of our time together, the executive team had fun and developed a solid plan for what they wanted to implement upon their return to Duluth!

ZingTrain makes the work of positive energy and culture accessible, tangible, and engaging.

  • Meet and engage with managing partners, leaders, and employees across Zingerman’s
  • Tour our production businesses to peek behind the scenes and see how the mustard is made (but not literal mustard!)
  • Take a BAKE! class, or taste your way through our Delicatessen
